Sparkly Quest Generator

A simple app  for generating inspiration for table top adventures and NPCs.

Try to make as much sense and you can, ponder how it could fit together and what it might all mean -- and allow your imagination to be sparked with ideas.  Keep what works for you, ignore what doesn't, or re-roll if you like and many times as you like.

It currently has too functions: Generating quest ideas and generating ideas for characters (intended mostly for NPCs).  Save the results as a text file if you like.   The character generator  also have a batch mode for generating a large number of possibl NPCs at once.

For quests choose between three sizes:

• Main Quest: For those wanting a long, story driven campaign with a beginning, end, and BBEG (not my style, but some like it); or for a videogame a main quest.
• Major Quest: A typical multi-session adventure, or a something like a major faction quest in a videogame.
• Minor Quest: For a table top one shot, or a side quest in a video game.

For character you can decide how many traits and chance for special characteristics.  For a single important NPC you may want to set all the chances to 100 -- the value given are more for using batch mode to flesh out a village.

Note that this does not generate game stats, as it is not for a specific system -- it is for sparking your imagination in developing character concepts, not for actually generating a game character in a mechanical sense.
